  • AVS stands for Address Verification Service and is a service provided by payment brands to determine the match or partial match of a customer’s address information. This is a security measure in place to help prevent fraud by adding another layer of information needed for online transactions.

 

AVS Declines

There are multiple reasons that you could receive AVS declines for transactions
  • User Error
    • The customer may have entered the information incorrectly
  • Bank Unsupported
    • Some banks do not support AVS, but this is very rare.
  • Unsupported Region
    • AVS is typically only used within the US, UK and Canada
